Assistive Technology - Latest Developments

New Project ATMAPS

The SZS and international partners are working in the ATMAPS project to develop standards for audio-tactile symbols used in Orientation and Mobility. Information about projekt and website ATMAPS

Google Faculty Research Award

The research group of Prof. Stiefelhagen (head of SZS) receives a Google Research Award for its work on "A Mobility and Navigational Aid for Visually Impaired Persons". The "Google Faculty Research Award" is endowed with 83.000 USD for supporting research in computer science, engineering and related disciplines.

Audiodescription in KSC-Football-Stadium Karlsruhe

Starting with the match on 27 July 2013 KSC offers 10 places equipped with audiodescription for blind and partially sighted football-fans on the grantstand of the KSC Stadium. Reservation and Accompanying Service please contact:  behindertenbetreuer@ksc.de
The Price is 5 Euro incl. one accompanying person. 

Project "PROMI - Promotion Inklusive"

Refund of Social Contribution

New tactile printer at SZS

A new, quieter and faster tactile printer is now available for blind and partially sighted students at the SZS. The "EmFuse" can print in color, double-sided and on DIN A3 paper. Information
