As a rule, the SZS invites all members of the university staff who count visually impaired persons among their students or will do so during the upcoming term once a year to a lecturers' meeting. To this open discussion the visually impaired students themselves are also invited.
The topics discussed at this meeting are for instance:
- presentation of lectures in a way suitable for visually impaired students;
- possibilities for lecturers of giving support to visually impaired students;
- scientific aspects of the transfer of literature into electronic form;
- general exchange of experiences.
These meetings are intended to promote the lecturers' interest and understanding with regard to the specific problems of blind and partly sighted students and to critically review and accordingly change their own behaviour and didactic approach towards these students.
